What is a Learning Readiness Assessment (LRA)?

A holistic snapshot of current state of training organization readiness across the entire learning environment within the business.
The LRA looks at the presence [or the absence] of critical components and capabilities necessary to sustain a dynamic, continuous learning ecosystem in businesses - regardless of size.

Why should we consider a Learning Readiness Assessment?

  • If your company trains worker like they did five to ten years ago - you are not at "readiness" - despite being "ready" to change
  • Work demands for flawless performance are moving faster and show no signs of slowing down
  • Business risk , legal liability, missed revenue, and potential for loss are more directly tied to performance results then ever
  • Taking workers off-task to sit through formal training classes or on-line courses does not return cost-effective results
  • Even the best training suffers knowledge loss of up to 80% in less than a month, further decreasing training effectiveness
  • The need to learn has converged with actual workflows - traditional training approaches cannot keep pace

Solution?
Move Learning Into the Workflow...

This evolution Changes the face of training - Changes where it happens - Changes how it happens
Most critically, this evolution Changes rules of engagement for those tasked with training duties

These Changes demand an expanded state of readiness to move beyond traditional approaches and treat
the learning environment -
the whole learning environment - as a dynamic learning ecosystem.

Who should consider using a Learning Readiness Assessment?

  • The LRA is designed to benefit ALL businesses, not just large organizations with dedicated training departments
  • Small-to-medium businesses where training is a shared task and based on limited budgets
  • Companies considering increasing or starting the use of on-line training
  • Companies considering introducing new learning Web 2.0 technology and/or Learning 2.0 methodology
  • Companies needing to realize a tangible return and an increase in training efficiencies
  • Companies who are asking the question, "Is there a better way to sustain capability in my workforce?"

Summary

  • The scope of LRA key driver analyses is determined after initial discovery conversation & alignment with leadership to define:
    - Level of organizational commitment to the effort
    - Areas of challenge identified and prioritized for assessment

(Initial discovery consultation at no cost)

  • LRA Analyses are modularized, applied in total or in part based upon initial leadership alignment interviews and discovery.

  • LRA enables development of a Learning Ecosystem Roadmap that identifies readiness gaps and offers recommendations to enable alignment of key ecosystem drivers with business strategy and mission priorities. The Road Map supports planning and prioritization of Change initiatives critical for implementation of a sustainable learning ecosystem.

Engagement Options

  • Direct Consulting - intervention start-to-finish through exclusive use of HPO resources.
  • Assessor & Coach - Use HPO as an outfitter to collaborate with your own internal resources to equip them with tools and techniques to accomplish much of the data gathering. Joint data evaluation through an Action Learning approach enables the organization to continually reassess learning readiness as business strategy evolves re-using the tools and techniques mastered in the initial effort.
  • Cost Investment - Negotiated based on size of the business and who actually does the fishing...
  • Development Credits - Through partnership with MYCA Multimedia & Training Solutions, HPO will assign credit of the LRA investment toward learning content design and /or hosting fees recommended as part of the ecosystem solution.
