Learning Readiness Assessment
First Step in the Creation of a Continuous Learning Environment

What is a Learning Readiness Assessment (LRA)?

Completion of a LRA identifies "readiness gaps" that represent obstacles to your organization's ability to integrate and sustain a continuous learning environment. The LRA creates a holistic map of the current learning environment and identifies opportunities to prioritize improvement interventions across six key readiness drivers:

  • Positive Cultural Learning Climate
  • Holistic Learning Design Methodology
  • Integrated Evaluation & Measurement Methodology
  • Scalable Collaboration Footprint
  • Transparent Technology Utilization
  • Repeatable Change Leadership Methodology

Key Readiness Drivers Assessed

Positive Cultural Learning Climate

  • Learning & Performance Culture - Assess the organization's commitment to continuous learning as a strategic initiative - willingness to staff critical roles and build competencies necessary to enable a sustained capability.
  • Governance Structure - Assess learning governance role appropriate for the organization.
  • Leading and Managing Change - Assess presence or absence of repeatable change model that integrates expanded Change Leadership drivers critical to delivering sustainable outcomes from a spectrum of Change Management initiatives from localized to organization-wide transformation.

Holistic Learning Design Methodology

  • Performance Analysis Process Evaluation - Assess current discovery methodologies used by the training organization and key competencies required to treat root causes versus symptoms of performance gaps.
  • Discovery & Design Process Evaluation - Assess instructional design methodologies and essential discovery skills necessary for accurate identification of learner work context - expanding focus to incorporate attributes of learning space, media & systems into design, development and delivery decisions. Assess business alignment methodology and stakeholder engagement in the continuous learning approach.
  • Learning Delivery Methods - Assess blended learning delivery mix across formal training programs, informal learning opportunities, and within collaborative learning methods.

Integrated Evaluation, Impact Measurement & Reporting

  • Evaluation Discovery - Assess evaluation planning processes used to ensure business alignment and accurate identification of key performance indicators critical to measuring tangible success results.
  • Acquisition Methodology - Assess acquisition methodologies for capturing outcome data based on all four levels of Kirkpatrick's scale.
  •  Reporting - Assess scope of reporting capability and identification of actionable data gaps..

Scalable Collaboration Footprint

  • Collaborative Culture - Assess cultural readiness to sponsor and integrate collaboration as a viable approach to support continuous learning.
  • Web & Learning 2.0 Integration - Assess sponsored versus covert utilization of 2.0 resources within the organization.

Transparent Technology Utilization

  • Learning Management & Delivery - Assess existing learning systems deployment and degree of implementation within the business. Covers learning delivery systems to end-user connectivity.
  • Content Creation & Management - Assess existing authoring platforms and content management systems used to create and manage content across multiple media platforms, including search, accessibility, usability, and archival capabilities.
  • Performance Management - Assess methods and systems used to support all facets of performance management including interfaces to remote systems (ERP, CRM, etc.)
  • Mobility & Connectivity - Assess learner mobility and network access/connectivity requirements necessary to support a continuous learning environment.

Repeatable Change Leadership Methodology

  • Change Leadership - Assess cultural readiness to leverage a repeatable process for integrating multi-level change initiatives.
  • Integrating Change - Assess methodology currently used for managing Change in the organization versus a replicable ten-step Change Leadership Model

Summary
